I am the grandson of a “community banker.” As a child, I never understood where that phrase came from or what it meant. I figured maybe all bankers were community bankers. Or maybe it was just a way to differentiate the Wall Street bankers from everybody else. But as I’ve gotten older and relied on community bankers for starting our law firm or buying our home, it has truly hit home the importance of a community banker to our local, well, communities.
To a true community banker, a loan is not given based simply on financial statements, cash flow, market trends, etc. A loan is given because a relationship has been established. A loan is given because trust has been earned. A loan is given because a promise has been made to repay it in full. A loan is given because a loan was needed.
The result of all those loans is the community around you. It’s the small businesses in the shopping center. It’s the young families moving into their starter homes. It’s the young lawyers who hang a shingle. Of course the world is not perfect, and sometimes things don’t work out. But I’m willing to bet the community banker likes her odds. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
I see the community bankers, but where are the community lawyers?
Where are the lawyers who value the relationship with a client above all else?
Where are the lawyers who work tirelessly to earn the trust of their clients?
Where are the lawyers who are willing to help people with their problems regardless of how much money the lawyers will make?
Where are the lawyers that invite their clients to come by the office to chat whenever they want, or at the very least answer the phone when it rings?
Where are the lawyers who are willing to be 100% transparent with their clients?
Where are the lawyers who dedicate their every move to making the community better, making the community safer?
This simple concept is the core of Patterson Law Group. We strive to help clients who have been injured despite how much money is at stake. If we feel like we can add value to you, we will fight for you. Period.
You can take that to the bank.
