History of Haslet, Texas
Located north of Fort Worth, Haslet, Texas has unique beginnings that make for a great story. According to the city’s website, Charles Maloney, an Irishman, purchased a section of land north of Fort Worth where he raised short-horn Durham cattle.
Representatives from the Sante Fe Railroad asked Maloney if they could have right-of-way for the railroad. Maloney is said to have told them, “let the wheels of progress roll across someone else’s property.”
When Maloney’s wife heard about the opportunity, she declared to her husband that it would be nice to be able to ride the train for Fort Worth to which Maloney obliged. Maloney told the rail workers that they could go through.
The men discussed Maloney’s change of heart at the behest of his wife when one man said: “He has let us go through.” The Town of Haslet was named after Maloney’s permission (Has-let) and the Michigan town the rail contractor originated.

Claiming Rightful Compensation for Damages
If you are seeking rightful compensation for damages from a car accident, you have a limited amount of time to file a claim.
Let’s say you’ve been in an accident. You’re knocked unconscious, so you’re rushed to the hospital. You regain consciousness in the ambulance, but still, have to spend a night in the hospital. You have no idea where your possessions are, where your vehicle is, and you’re a little hazy on the details of what happened. A police officer is there, questioning you on what happened, but you’re in and out of areas getting a CT scan, MRI, and X-rays. He leaves his card with you after waiting for an hour.
While you’re at the hospital, you start to remember that you were at a stoplight when the vehicle behind you slammed into your rear-end, pushing you into the vehicle that was in front of you. Your airbag deployed at some point and knocked you out because of the impact.
You remember looking in your rearview mirror and seeing the person behind you texting on their phone at a high rate of speed. It seems like a clear-cut case, but what if the driver denies texting while driving? What if the driver claims you were at fault?
We hear stories like this all the time. The injured party has to defend himself or herself because the liable individual has denied responsibility. The laws around liability can put you in a stressful and challenging situation.
If you’ve been in an accident, seek immediate medical treatment followed by legal representation.
