Coronavirus (COVID-19) has shaken the nation to its core.

It’s been a tough few weeks for, well, the entire world, including Texas.

As we attempt to navigate the ‘new normal’ during this global pandemic, we wanted to share some changes and adaptations we are making at Patterson Law Group for our employees and our clients.

Supporting Our Team

As the gravity of the coronavirus continues to spread across our great country, there have been many changes to our day-to-day.

One thing we pride ourselves on at Patterson Law Group is how much we love and care for our employees and clients. And, how much we will fight to protect them. That love and grit is something that’s been ingrained in our team since PawPaw.

That’s why we’re taking action.

To protect our clients and team, we’ve asked our attorneys and staff to work from home. In addition, we are supporting our working parents with a childcare subsidy. We understand the stress and unexpected complications working from home can bring. We want to encourage our employees to focus on their wellbeing as well as be a good example for the community. The health and safety of our staff and clients are the top priority.

Furthermore, for many years now, Patterson Law Group has had established secure cybersecurity measures to ensure the utmost safety for sensitive data. We have implemented a number of technology processes to protect our assets.

Here’s How The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Affects Your Personal Injury Claim in Fort Worth, Arlington, & San Antonio

During these unprecedented times, things can get a little overwhelming. We are receiving many questions about how the coronavirus is affecting your current case.

To help address these concerns, we wanted to share a few updates for our local community.

City of Fort Worth & Arlington

On March 24, 2020, Tarrant County issued a Declaration of Local Disaster asking residents to stay home due to the threat of COVID-19.

Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price told residents, “Y’all stay home.”

The Fort Worth City Council has extended the declaration through April 7, 2020.

Law firms are considered essential businesses “when necessary to assist in compliance with legally mandated activities,” for both Fort Worth and Arlington.

For more up-to-date information, please review the City of Arlington website and the City of Fort Worth website.

City of San Antonio

On the same day, March 24, 2020, Bexar County issued an executive order “Stay Home, Work Safe Measures.”

It is unclear when the executive order will end.

Again, law firms are considered essential businesses “when necessary to assist in compliance with legally mandated activities,” for San Antonio.

Fort more up-to-date information, please review Bexar County’s website and the City of San Antonio website.

So, what does this mean for your personal injury case?

Patterson Law Group remains open. We are functioning at full capacity.
While the Supreme Court of Texas, the Court of Criminal Appeals, and Tarrant County local courtrooms have suspended certain in-person activities that affect court proceedings including hearings, depositions, etc, they are still operating with videoconferencing and teleconferencing.

Even though the courthouses may be closed, we are still moving forward with the pursuit of your case.

The Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, issued a letter confirming that government services are essential to the public.

“Our state government offices provide services that are essential to the public. Governor Abbott’s executive order makes the need for continued, unburdened operation of state offices clear,” said Attorney General Paxton. “It is our duty to protect and provide for Texans, and we are committed to serving our citizens during this health crisis.”

As we mentioned above, Patterson Law Group has been equipped for virtual representation for many years. We are still able to continue to streamline trials, mediations, and arbitrations during the coronavirus.

We are still committed to results. And, we still want to help you earn them.

Thinking Of You

As Texans, we need to join the fight against this spreading virus. We need to come together while social distancing. Sunday dinners, conferences, your daughter’s birthday party — these are all events that define us. But, we need to give these up to make our community safe.

We can overcome this together. We are being tested. We must keep fighting. Don’t fail this test. Texans never quit. We will come out stronger and tougher than before.

We must embrace the suck and be the best example for others. Don’t lose sight of the love and respect we must have for each other.
